Voted for Xoliul, love the design choices he made. A very elegant look to it.

Good luck to all the entrants!

Hopefully I can find the time for the next comp.

kinetichaze did a great job as well, creating something different then the standard UAV. He's also one of the few who dares to use colors, and if used correctly, it looks good Nice job. It's just the lack of details on the textures that cost you my vote. If you compare Andy's diffuse texture with kinetichazes, I really have to vote for Andy.

Great job everybody. Some really nice pieces here!
Thanks, though I truly do not understand why you think my diffuse lacks detail? Care to explain that further, I am just curious because I consider it pretty well detailed.

Thanks mate. I was trying to be as outside the box as I possibly could, while still sticking as close as possible to the original design. Creativity within constraints they call it.

Here are my thoughts of everyone's entries:

Titus
I thought you did a pretty interesting normal map. The camo pattern is unique and well placed over the model. I did get the strong impression that your diffuse map was unfinished, because overall the UAV looks very uniform e.g. all made of the same material. Most notably the jet exhaust is completely uniform and does not give the impression of a real working vehicle. Overall though a very solid entry, marred in my opinion by unfinished looking diffuse.

iansmithArtist
You have some interesting details up the front in the nose area. I think you need to work on your modelling some more, check your proportions more and so on. You will get there with lots more practice though for sure. You are one of the few to add a jet trail/exhaust so that was good, but yeah just keep practicing and joining comps.

neenerpants
Your entry is somewhat unique. You seem to have put a lot of effort into the diffuse and that shows. I really must say however that the 'comic' look does not appeal to me at all. I think if you keep improving your modelling skills that you will pushing out some great stuff.

Xoliul
You had by far my favourite deviation from the original design, of those that did so. It's so sleek and functional, which appeals to me a lot. I do agree with the comment in your thread that the diffuse looks half new-gen, half-old gen. Nice work overall though, voted for ya.

taemoor
Nice details modelled in. Unfortunately I think too sparse and not particularly functional, I get the impression you just ran short of time though?
I am not a fan of the green throughout the diffuse, makes it look like the thing has been left at a scrapyard collecting moss in the rain. Also the air intake is far too constricted to be functional. Really though, I think this could be improved a lot by giving more thought to the design choices, because the modelling is pretty good.

Ibrahim
Not a lot to crit, apart from the judicious use of grime which has already been discussed. Although the black parts look like bumpy rubber to me. Overall very solid entry I think.

hr824
I think this had potential, but really just needed to be finished off.

spaniard0
I actually like the design changes a lot on this one. The camo is nice, but overall there is not enough material definition and the diffuse ends up a bit bland I think.

andybozo
You were very fast in this comp, and I think your work is good. The decals that you put on later, don't look very well integrated with the rest of the vehicle. I think that even though you used decal planes, you could have given them some of the detail from rest of the diffuse map to make them blend into their locations more convincingly. Well done on adding the flames out the back and getting it into Crysis.

Kaskad
The metallicness of the metal is very convincing and aesthetically pleasing. I was somewhat bothered by the lack of functional thought in your design choices (tail wings thick as bricks for example) or I may have voted for this one.

I voted for andybozo.

I like how he gave the airplane character by adding little pictures to it, like the half naked lady, the skull and of course the artist signature on the wing.

Alot of nice entries, well done guys!

I voted Neenerpants for being so original and making the bulkyness and strange proportions of the concept actually work!

Thumbs up My vote goes to Xoliul

Great job everyone, all the models look great and are all worthy of votes. But only one winner is allowed!!

My vote goes to Xoliul for the simplistic design. The model has this "straight to the point" feel to it, nothing complicated and at the same time it can easily fly by undetected!

Good job mate

Solid work from a lot of people, neenerpants entry is great!

But my vote went to Titus, the design has a strong asthetic (although not necessarily the best one), but technically imo it's the best one of the lot, clear, crisp textures, detailed and sharp normal map, and solid modeling.

Titus got my vote, for the pure technical awesomeness
Yes the texture lacks a bit in in some places (exhaust as mentioned). But asides that it is a very high quality model.

Well, everything looks very flat. Of course the normal map will give it some definition, but you should also use it a bit more in your diffuse. Also, I think the white paint that you use at the front and the exhaust doesn't show any kind of material definition. It's really hard to see that it is metal. You could also use some more dirt to make it look less new. Here and there you used a small scratch, but never some real dirt. I would expect some rust or colored dust on the exhaust.

I made a very quick paintover. It's not 100% perfect, but it should give you an idea what I mean:
