Really nice work man. I especially like how you stuck very closely to the concept in overall shape, form, and silhouette, but then added a whole whack of individuality through the shapes of the panelling and various bolts and divots. Did you use floaters for those (divots, grooves, bolts etc), and is there any chance we could see a larger image of hp, or perhaps a wireframe? Thanks!

Nice detail on the high polygon so far, the only crit I would make is that these UAV's are actually very large, assuming its to size, the seams between the metal would be way to large. When on wheels the are taller than a human and can travel at over 500mph with a pretty dam big amount of explosives. I was actually really shocked when I looked into them.
The concept seems to be based on a MQ-9 Reaper http://www.murdoconline.net/2008/MQ-9%20Reaper.jpg

Well UAV's is a blanket term, and stands for unmanned aerial vehicle. Then UK based UAV's size from a model aircraft size all the way up to the BAE Mantis which is the size of a small prop based plane itself. But it does look like the concept is based of the reaper but with a jet engine. As for the model, as someone who works on planes all day it doesn't look right. The panelling on the leading edge of the wing makes no sense (as in no aircraft has that type of set up), and some of the panels just look like they are there for decoration. But for the model itself it's nigh on perfect, the high poly is outstanding as usual and looks very distinctive compared to allot of them I've seen.

Awesome high poly man. The panels show off the construction really well. I have a question though...
In general would you make a low poly first, then make it high poly. Or make the high first and then go back and make a low poly? I've only done this kinda workflow once before, but I'm interested in getting involved in this one. |
