GAMC #3 - Spaniard0

Hey guys,

Prowled around the site for a while but never really actively did anything. Wanted to change that though. Thought I'd give one of these contests a go.

Here's a W.I.P. so far. Just started so there's not much but I'll develop it further and keep up the posting.

Good Luck all!

A little update. This is about done as far as the low poly mesh is concerned. I'm at about 1800 tris so i have a little room to add some more details so I'll do that and try to finish the low poly by tonight.

I was thinking about building a more complex high poly in Maya to flush out some of the normal details. Would it be easier to do in Zbrush?

Top down view looks really good. You can shave some polys here and there with no influence on the silhouette.

Looks good. This doesn't strike me as a "Zbrush" type of pipeline. Just plain hard surface modelling should suffice.

I think it depends on what you're gonna do. If you're gonna do just some panels... maybe keeping it in Max is best. However, if you're gonna do a lot of paneling and array bolts all over the chassis, then zbrush or mudbox are your fastest and easiest bets.

Hey guys,

I went in and revised some things and added a few more details as well as reducing a few extra polys. I dropped the count down to about 1500 tris, so i still have a lot of play room with the low poly. I still need to add those antenna on the top, so that'll take a few but I still have a lot to play with.

Otherwise, cheers mates. I see a lot of good stuff out there so this should be a good competition.

Little update here,

This is the final Low poly mesh finished here. I added a little surveillance camera on the front as a quick little addition as well as compressing the engine block slightly.

Gonna start on the hi poly mesh presently and see if i cant get that kicked out by at least the end of the day.

A lot of good stuff out there guys. Keep it up!

Hey Guys,

Here's some W.I.P. shots of what I'm doing right now. Tried doing some normal map baking but that ended up a bust so I'm going in manually in Photoshop. Oh well. Tried going for the Digital camouflage look as far as a paint scheme goes.

Keep on Truckin'...
