Ok, well this is my first competion.
But the main reason for me doing this is to get my portfolio a bit more base towards games and to improve some skills, for me it mainly getting my normal maps to work well and improve my texturing skills. Well here is my low poly (it may change). All it is really is just my high poly mesh without alot of the support edges ![]() And this is my high poly base mesh, havent decided if im gonna do the detail in XSI, Zbrush or as a texture in photoshop. ![]() |

Ok well this is my latest update, this i what i did yeasterday hopefully i do some more today.
This was just me adding alot of support edges to my high poly and putting in the seams/ welding lines however i think i would have to refine the seams a bit, and also the support edges have made the body shape more angular than what i was going for although i dont mind the look too much, i just prefere to get what i was aiming for instaed of just setteling for what ive done. So i think im gonna go back and redo and see what i can get. ![]() |

You have a good start here, just some tweaks to keep the original shape are in order. I see what you mean about the blockyness of the more detailed model, your additional edges made you lose your original rounded shape.
If you can post up some wires of the non subdivided mesh and possibly the subdivided mesh as well I can do a PO and help you resolve the blockyness. If you want ![]()

cheers retardedmonkey, well this was the old version that was very angular but it the wire frame (the way i model kinda makes showing the unsubdidved model not really helpfull cause i place the support edges very close, however i can subdived and keep the lowpoly fame).
![]() Also here is the link to the unsubdived one http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/h...subdivded1.jpg And this is the newer version, [IMG] [/IMG]Wire ![]() Also thank you for the offer of the paintover, but i seem to have managed to get what I was going for. Cheers, ok well ive taken it into ZBrush and added a bit of finer details to it.
![]() The only thing is not sure how much of the detial will get picked up in the normal map so im gonna leave the detail there, i can always come back and add more if i think it needs it. |
