GMAC #2 - LRS3d

Great fun,
I have moddeled the chair around 1700 tris,
I modeled the back studs separatly, with hard and soft edges to get the effect of the creasing. I thought I did a wire of it, so I will have to load it again to post one.

I Deleted the back of the low poly chair and stitched the stud plane to the chair base.
I also stitched the legs on, so it is one mesh.

CLik pic for larger look.

wireframe

A shot of the Wire after stitching the back on,
I tried the chair with a character and it looked a little low,
so I thickened up the base a little.

Fairly happy with the UVS.

and the UVs, next will be the teture maps.

In your first post you said you stitched the legs on, do you mean you stitched them to the chair? And if so, why exactly? Doesn't that just add to your polycount? (adding triangles to make the hole to which you stitch the legs.)

Anyway, keep it up. So far so good

Hi MeintevdS,
I made the legs part of the main mesh,
I had read somewhere to try and make things all in one mesh if possible, and I was seeing if I could do it.

it doesnt really add too many tris as you delete the ones off the top of the leg, (gaining some).

Hopefully I will get a chance on Sat to finish the texture maps. (assignment due Fri)
