GAMC #2 - Ruined

I'm sort off new to the forums. It's gonna be my first post, but I've been lurking for a while before doing so

Anyway, I was hoping I could get my forum name changed before I started posting, but since the deadline is creeping up. I figured I'd better post my model and see if you people have some usefull tips before I start on my lowpoly

Oh and the material is not mine, I'm a complete newbie at zbrush and wouldn't know how to make a pretty material. I downloaded this material from Threedy Forums - Powered by vBulletin, one of their users uploaded it for people to use

Thanks for watching!

(ps. omg! that's awesome, the forum automatically changed the forum name into a hyperlink )

Look great so far, the only crit I have is the the seat looks a little low but that could just be the perspective in Zbrush.

Thanks lloyd and kinjutsu.
Yes you might be right about it being to low, I put a biped in there for measurements and it seemed alright with me. So I'm not going to change that (since I'd have to redo my sculpting )

But thanks alot for the input!

So today I started on my low poly. The current triangle count is 1886.
Below you can see my final sculpted version, and a picture of my lowpoly and wireframe.

I'm getting there, I'm getting there. Next up unwrapping.

Soo I unwrapped my chair and baked my normals using xnormal. But I have a problem which I can't find the solution too.

As you can see below the left armrest has the normals of the right armrest. I gave the lowpoly object a projection modifier and enabled 'use cage' in xnormal, and still the rays manage to reach the otherside of the chair.

Does anybody have an idea how to fix this?

im guessing when its creating the normal its sending the rays out to far. somthing to do with cage distance? is there a distance slider in xnormal?

Xnormal lets you fill in a number for the ray lengths, and it is set to 0.5 as default. But I enabled the 'use cage' function which means it should use the cage that I made for it in max. And the cage in max does not reach the other side of the chair.

Try using the default cage that Xnormal generates, but then change your mesh scale to something a lot smaller (like 0.2) for both the High and Low poly meshes.
