GAMC #1 - Glenatron

Hello all,

New here, so be gentle. Anyways, here's my entry for the current comp, I'm going for an art deco neswpaper vending machine.

I've taken quite a few liberties with the surface detailing on this thing, but the main shapes and features are there, so hopefully it will be okayed.

Here are a few shots of how the high poly is coming along. Still needs a lot more detailing here and there, but the general them and uses are there.

C+C more than welcome.

Definitely an interesting concept, a bit of the old Steam Punk going on there.
Nice to see you've recessed most of the details for easier normal mapping.

Wow. I only saw the bottom pic yesterday, so didn't really have any comments. You really do have that art deco going on. I think I would be correct io saying that it has that kind of bioshock feel.

It looks very blocky in some places for being a highpoly, but I'm guessing that's wip.

Also, make sure to keep in mind that 90* angles will not show on normalmaps, so you'll have to take that into consideration if you want to be able to fit your lowpoly within the tri-count, and not have to model out the details

Thanks for the comments guys,
Lol, and yes I was definately going for a bit of a Bioshock feel.

Managed to get the low poly done, unwrapped, and most of the high poly detailing has come over alright. 1500 triangles exactly, here it is rendered with AO and Normal maps:

Cheers MadShooter!

Here's where I'm at so far with the diffuse. Obviously the detail, spec, glow and alpha maps will come later, so it looks a bit flat atm. Let me know what you think..

Sorta reminds me of final fantasy with the color scheme, but yeah the design leans toward bioshock.
