GAMC #1 - doylle

Alrighty, time to get cracking here...

I'm going to make a "Chilled Water bottle dispenser". Basically it'll hold a number of whaterbottles, that are being cooled for extra freshness. Imagine yourself running around with your zero-gravity gun shooting toilets at other people, and suddenly you are thursty but your mum forgot to pack water, well now you will be able to get your refreshing beverage while pwning other people.

Ok, so much for the concept and purpose . I haven't done proper highpoly modeling for a while, so it's going really really slow . The image below has some highpoly parts and some placeholders in it, but none of is is even close to finished. I found a cool picture of the kind of material i want for this, but i can't find it anymore, so i'll post that later if I can find it back

Ofcourse this makes alot of sense! Good start as always doylle! I'd give it a shot myself but I'm not really into this scifi stuff :P

Those 3 little holes/gaps, wouldn't it be better if you made them floaters, same with all screws etc etc...

Had nearly the same idea, only that it would hold cold beer and not water, but it was near.

Anyways, good start looks much like the concept.

@Snipergen: I suppose floaters would have been allot easier for those gaps indeed. I haven't really used floaters before, so this might be a moment to experiment with them. However, i do want to train my high poly modeling skills, so I'm not to bothered with spending more time just to find the right edgeflow...

@Svelle: yea, I think it's in the nature of the competition that people will end up with the same ideas, so don't worry about it, make a beer fridge if you want

Time for a little update. still working on the highpoly model. Damn i hate that weird looking shape on the side

but anyway...

Going for the minimal amount of detail necessary to make it look cool and interesting, and then the texturing will do the rest of the talking...

It's looking good so far man, that side thing is looking a out of place indeed though, but I think it might be because of the hard edge it has. Anyhow, keep working m8

Right, i think I'm calling the highpoly done... I'm not yet sure if I'll add the actual bottles, i'll see how much triangles i have left for that when the lowpoly is done.

cc welcome

looks good and well done doylle. the inlays/sockets for the screws are great!

anyhow something seems to miss. something that kicks the design....not that i had any idea ...but perhaps you go for some advertising or cool logo on the surface at texture time... and it should be very colorful or saturated, i'd suggest!

or put somewhere some fabrics or a small cord or cable..

@ Aphexx: Yea, i'm still thinking about what to do with the center front. I'm thinking of adding a thermometer there, with blue glowing lights or so (like those UV bars you get on sound instalations). But i'm not sure yet. Ah, still a couple days left, nothing to worry

Anyway, new update on the textures. Mind you, it's all still wip.

CC welcome ofcourse

Great start with textures. No C&c's at this stage
