Really unique idea. Can't wait to see more!

I think a fan controller or something would look neat on it, some kinda control panel.
Aside from that,

what year are these gonna be available? lol.

hi barbeerian,
very clean modeling how it seams. how about a small field of keys on the angle above the panels?
would it make bit more interesting and also you would get more of the "mid"-detail level

I took your both of your advice and added a keypad thing on the side, and two sets of fan controls (one up by the fans, one on the keyboard panel). The High poly is 99% done now. I just want to add one or two more things to the side panels, they're still a little bit barren.

Low poly shouldn't take long, I didn't collapse any of my stacks so at least half of it I can just tweak things instead of doing it from scratch.

I'm also looking for some advice. I'm not sure whether or not I should put the keyboard, trackball + buttons, and fan controls into the panel, then have them pop out when the panel opens up. I think it would look cool to have some little slots that opened up revealing all the controls, but it'll cost a lot of tri's in the low-poly (probably 250-300).

I’m not sure about the keypad being so small on the front. maybe make it cover 2/3 of the flap and have the other space as a bit hand scanner. so that would be a rectangle with a scan line texture of a handprint.

it just looks a bit odd right now.

hi. this whole thing makes more sense now and looks more pleasing with the keyboard.

anyway they keyboard should be inset into the panel. otherwise it would look odd at normalmap time..also the size problem and the placing was mentioned, and i second that.

the arrangement of the keys could be more integrated into the panel.
in other words: delete the num block, and arrange the left keys along the bottom edge, forming a curve. just like the bottom edge of the panel.

in that way, you would support the flow, and it would look more integrated.

perhaps you want to delete the current center slot in the bottom panel to get more room for the keys.

Funky concept dude, and gotta love those AO renders. Looking froward to the LowPoly and Texture work!
