Well Crazybump usually make the speculars like that which result in kinda blurry crap but oh well guess i was wrong

So essentially telling him that his specular map is blurry crap will help him how?

Denny i think he was referring to how Crazybump makes the textures look blurry crap, but it wasn't the best comment he could have made.

Be careful not to destroy detail by changing the brightness/contrast then the levels then repeating etc. I find adjustment layers the best for making speculars and changing the opacity of your layers as you need them to change.

Hmm, seems to be no encouragement here at all. There's crit and then there's just being borderline rude.

I don't know if the other artists here have a thing against guns (read: frequency of submissions in this category,) but from my perspective and judging this as a stand alone piece, I think the texture looks great and having played left for dead for the last week, this mesh and texture is a fair bit better and more interesting than the shotguns I've been using in that retail game.

I would suggest a toning down of the normal map around the wooden sections, but apart from that, I think your first weapon model and texture is a real stand out Dukesy.

I agree, too much criticism in this thread.

Shotgun looks excellent, especially the later version with the extra bump. Good texturing and colors.
Only problem I have with it is that painted hi-lights, if you remove those, it would bring out the bump more.
