[UT GOTY] DM - Close

Hey all!
New it was about time I posted somthing here, anyway here is some new work I finished on UT GOTY (oldschool ). It is a Small DeathMatch created with the Unreal Engine 1 for practice with BSP work and fast pased gameplay. It uses some stock and some custom textures it took one week to complete. The floor plan was created in such a way to allow fast acces to each of the rooms but still keep the action fast but still gives a recently spawned player enough time to find a weapon.

Thanks!

As a mapper for UT (for many years) it's always nice to see new old skool maps. I'll give it a swing and post some critics.

EDIT:

ohw there's no download link. =(

Ok I've just ran a test match with 2 bots:

- Bots seem to run against the wall where the arched doorway is.

- This map is nice and small, the ripper would have been great here. It could be placed instead of the rocket laugher because I mostly just blew up myself with it.

- Everything feels a bit cramped. There's not alot of room to move around. This map could use a big room. Would be a nice change from the small hallways.

- The visuals could do a bit fancier. It does give me a nice old school feeling though. Like the original UT maps.

Overall it's pretty nice to play with friends or something and the brushwork is nice. I guess that was what you were going for so well done.

Thanks Cory the crits are appreciated,
The bots, damn i didnt notice this at all ill try and see if its easy to fix. Your right, ripping fun. The crampness, i dont plan to add another room but i will keep it in mind so thanks. The visuals are prety much as good as I could get them, sure a little more brush work could be done on the walls but I was starting to get the HOM affect.

Re-download it, new version up. Thnks!

The lighting could be improved. It's a little on the pale side. But most of the original UT maps aren't any better.

there used to be a really good tutorial on lighting by DavidM not sure if it still up though.

Hmm the lghting, yes I wanted to leave the high-contrast lights alone, Ive had some help from Hournce and a few other people with the lighting but maybe ill work on them a little more.
