Container Handling Crane - Static Prop

been working on this for just under one month now and think its in a state where I can call it final, thou still open to critics ![]() The main LOD ended up at 4988 polies just under my original target of 5000. This has been the most complicated model I've ever made, thou could have still in many places used some more detail I thought that I would have just gone OTT with the poly count. Anyways small scene I did on my (WIP) map I made to show off the static ingame ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Edged Faces View, with colour layer: ![]() Level-of-Detail: LOD 0, 4988 polys ![]() LOD 1, 4176 polys ![]() LOD 2, 3225 polys ![]() LOD 3, 1831 polys ![]() Collision Meshes: COL 0, Decal, 3700 polys ![]() COL 1, Physics, 448 polys ![]() COL 2, Player, 1113 polys ![]() Hope you like it, Cheers! ![]() |

Looks very good Rhino
I'm sure DasRoach would be jealous to know that you make your own statics for your maps, heh. It looks as good or better than anything Dice has made in the game and good use of textures too. Did you make custom textures for this one or stick with texture palletes? Cool to see you showcasing every mesh for the model including collisions. Not many people post this much detail in their showcases so its sure to help other game artists get their heads around the process. Kudos ![]() |

![]() only just started making my own statics only a few months ago after matt.b (who was PR's static guy) went inactive, before then I just use to get matt.b to do all my statics like the train bridge on OGT etc ![]() I stuck to the vbf2 pallets for the most part, thou made afew custom textures like the yellow and black stripes colour texture, the wheels as well as some of matt.b's PR textures ![]() |
