Thanks a lot for the feedback everyone! Much appreciated and taken into consideration!

This was the first time i used vray for rendering and i really like the look of it but i have indeed some issues getting a nice specular effect from it. I am still trying to figure that out but i dont know what i make wrong sofar.

Edit: oh and i forgot, if any mod team could need that piece give me a shout :D

Great presentation, but the materials are lacking in my opinion .

There's no real specularity on it, everything "feels" the same in terms of surface material, but with a nicely detailed diffuse.
There is no directional lighting on the diffuse, which is great, but you need to back it up with a strong normal map so the would-be directional lighting becomes dynamic, not present on this piece unfortunately.

Lastly the smoothing seems poorly set up, feels a bit soft and bubly, where the seams suggest it would be straight and angular.

But the diffuse and modeling seems good, and the render looks great so good work there .

EDIT: Oh and, wheels are round, so don't skimp on the polys there!

the final renders looks awesome!..how does it fare in a game engine?

one thing I would crit is the defined light sources in your color map,all the rivets & small details have painted highlights that would detract from the bump mapping

still does look sweet though

the timber looks plain cylinder, it should have some curves

Hey everybody,

according to your great feedback i spent some time tweaking (mainly the material and the rendersettings). Here is the result:

TBH i liked the first renders best. I just love how it looked like a toy thing with a nice fresnel and stuff.
Now it looks more like a 3d render
