FN SCAR models

Some of the finished SCAR variants that will be part of a package I'm working on for VBS1, highdetail LOD's are done and all the work that remains are lower res LOD's.

Wire view

The rifles are unwrapped to one 1024x1024 each and attachments like sights and grenade launcher to its' own 512x512 map (bipod to 512X256).

Full package will contain models depicted in the following links.
SCAR TAN with Optics
SCAR TAN ironsights

And some links to ingame shots of the models, unfortunately of low quality.
SCAR L S ELGM
SCAR H S
SCAR L CQC

EDIT: oh yeah...before anyone comments about it. Yes they are photosourced textures with some heavy editing and repainting of details.

Good job Snowfella I've seen your work before and actually remembered that you said you were working on that mil sim. And that's very important to note, as there's a stark difference between your photo-realism style (which is well done) and the "gun porn" look of CDG or other HL2 skinning communities. As much as I wouldn't want to see that gun in HL2, I'd play with it all day in Ghost Recon or a more advanced and realistic sim. That's the difference that people should recognize here and hopefully also appreciate

Great weapon! Lots of upgrades you've made for it, and nice to see some weapons for good old Operation Flashpoint.

Thanks guys.
I have to say I'm pretty pleased with the way this model turned out. But at the same time I know it would be nowhere near what it is unless it was for the reference pictures provided by a 5th SFG friend.

As for 1st person view.
Early 1st person render, before I fixed some texture issues.
Current ingame shot at full resolution, optimised to 80% with ImageReady
The model still doesn't have any of VBS1's hardware T&L turned on though so lighting ought to improve somewhat with that.

It does look alittle stretched there doesn't it
Only problem with fixing that is that the texture for it is hidden somewhere in the original sim's data folder, containing alittle over 4000 different textures that nearly all are named in Czech. And even if I can find it I can't easily replace it as the whole texture folder is combined into one 200mb data.pbo file, so to change that single texture I'd have to replace the whole .pbo file.
