Sir Apple - Thanks for the tips! I wanted to go be careful and light on the wear, but think I went a bit overboard leaving a piece that lacks character. I tweaked quite a bit, and I'm hoping this update displays a little more spice. Thanks again for the ideas
![]() Swag - Thanks! Bull - Look, if you would want to provide constructive feedback, I'll greatly appreciate it But if you want to just be a dick and throw out rude comments, I'm going to ignore you. I don't have time for that, I won't allow my work to be derailed, and there are other devs who choose the constructive route who are more deserving of my attention. Quote:
Torch - Thanks! The level of damage/wear has produced some interesting debates I decided to punch up the wear just a bit to hope build some character. ____ Update, with some tweaks. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Nicely done! I like the concept and the look of it
![]() However. There is something about the handle and trigger that bothers me. And after looking at some images. I figured that it might be the trigger that is placed to high up. On the AR15, the curve on the of the handle is placed above the trigger. I do like to point out that I'm not a gun expert or anything. This may as well vary between different rifles. Also as others have mentioned, the "mirrored" texture on the back of it (seen from the first person view). Looks a bit lazy ![]() Again, nice work. You should be proud ![]() |

@gutty333 - I can't believe I never mentioned that anywhere! Renders are in UDK.
@3dmaxer - I see what you are saying, and you are exactly correct. The placement of the trigger right now means that the mechanics inside the gun are very cramped. Naturally, it is a bit late for me to make that kind of change, but I'm concepting another rifle now and will keep the spacing of the inner mechanics in mind, thank you Same for the mirrored back. Tragic rookie mistake I should have known better to avoid. The frequent comments about it has me planning some time to go back and fix it for my folio. tonyd927 - Thanks! Much appreciated I have a long way to go w my texturing skills, but I'm making progress. Keep at it, mate. Perfect practice makes perfect!

They read fine as convex details imo. Considering the fact that the darker/AO parts are on the outside and the edge highlighting are on the inside. I don't see how a slightly different colored polymer is an issue, unless it really wasnt meant to be a different color. The only thing I can agree on with the previous poster is the tucked in area that got scratched.

Parts like that could quite easily get scratched whether its in the stripping /cleaning process or just from daily use. Weapons get knocked around more than you would think they would. However the muzzleflash and barrel could definately do with some more wear as even just removing carbon deposits with wire brush takes the paint off let alone the heat of the gases escaping. Other than that i think its a great looking weapon and texture.
