@SammyJoeU- Thank you

@Mole420- Thanks! The bottom of the actual real life revolver is pretty sharp, mine may be a little bit sharper than the real thing but I didn't want to add anymore to the poly count.

@TheChan- Thank you for pointing those areas out to me, I cleaned it up and was able to get it down to 3.8k tris.

What refs did you use?Any chance of a look at them?......Wood furniture looks,far too dark & metalwork is just overly grunged,on the verge of concrete looking.Although looking at it,most of that is probably in the specular..

Ok here`s a few tips,Although most peeps on here think I`m a *anke*,so take them as you see fit.
If your going for a blued look,the spec is probably to light overall,you just want the odd highlighted,nick or scratch tbh,it looks too grungey atm.
On the other hand,if you want a stainless look,then drop the contrast on the spec,then ramp up the brightness.
Also worth mentioning is the wood sheen,very little to see,which is probably down to what looks like a quick inverted diffuse used as a gloss map.Spend a bit more time on it bud..
Overall,pretty good.Could be better though,as you probably know yourself...."Derailer out"!

Here's an update, I ended up going with the gloss look

I'm going to adjust some things here and there tomorrow, mainly around the barrel. Any suggestions guys?

Looking cool man!

It seems so shiny though its hard to make out some details, like the text and some of the ware/scratches get blocked out by bright shine reflections. I would adjust that.

Looking good

@Kanga- Thanks man

@Sir Apple- Thanks! I'm having trouble getting the damage to look the way I want it to unfortunately.

I found a really good video reference of the Magnum, well a clean version -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAFo...eature=related

The gun is very glossy and reflective but I wonder how strong the scratches should be. Anyways here's a small update, I brought the scratches out and I think I'm going to add just a little bit more dust/dirt. What do you guys think? Thanks

Thats looking a lot better. I like the clear difference in metal color between the hammer/trigger/small parts and the main body

I'm wondering though if the damage on the barrel may look good if its not on top of the "smith and wesson" and "44 magnum" text, it starts to look really rough and distorted at some angles.
