I haven't seen other work from you but I would suggest first taking time to make a prop that is beautifull, take your time, take the resolution space you want and try to be loose on any restrictions.
The time it will take you to make a prop can always be sped up when you can make beautifull props and when you have the skills and knowledge to make a beautifull prop.

Modeling a prop like this is simple, so I would spruce it up via the texture. I think if you take a little bit more time on the texture, instead of trying to make it within a very short time, you will have something much better to show.

In short, the model is good, the texture could do with a little bit more work.
