I like it, what resolution are your textures?
I think you could make the white glowing areas glow more, if they are infact supposed to be glowing then they don't give off much light. Maybe brightening those up and adding a tint of blue or orange to them would make them stand out more. would be nice to see a wireframe and your texture sheets too. Good first post though. ![]()

I like this piece a lot, but it doesn't really look like it was designed to be an actual crate. It looks more like a fixed compartment of some kind, as besides the awkward carrying handle, there's no way to use a forklift or any other kind of lifting to move it around.

I agree with Alexander Smith.
Doesn't look like a crate design. Ron Cobb, the head designer for Alien, who worked on ship design for Star Wars too said that when he designed space ships, everything in the design had to be functional, right down to fuel tolerances. If it was a crate, it would be stackable and a very simple shape so you could store loads of them in a loading bay. You could keep the object design, but maybe think about what it's function is. It could be a med-bay work station for example. The more you think about the concept, the more functions of the concept can enrich your design. |
