Red face Scarlet Spiderman

Hi, this is a project I have created for my portfolio after university. Not beeing happy as most of us with uni work, now that i graduated I scraped all of my old work and now, starting a new. I hope you like this model, it took some time to mak at a HD resolution, textures also.
Not meaning to sound like a noob, but this is one of my first texturing projects, modeling is my main skill.
I hope you like this work, it took a long time to make but it was fun . It can only get better from here on ? I hope.

Please Makre Sure to CLICK on image to see FULL RENDER,& DETAILS. AS RE-SIZING RUINS THE HARD WORK

P.S IF..your monitor is large enough, and your resolution is high also you can see the Actual render size image here..

http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/654...tailslarge.jpg I think if you submit an Image to 3D Total it gets sized down, loosing sharpnes in details. If you have the time check out these links and open them in a seperate window.

This is looking really awesome Zen! Its a shame how the scaled image distorts. Everyone make sure to look at the original image.

Could you possibly put up your wireframe and textures. Also i believe your links are broken.

Once again great stuff!

Wow those are some detailed textures. What sizes are they?
I really love the design, but the cloth tears on the shoulders are really soft and kind of mediocre compared to the pant tears, which are excellent. GJ

Who wears short shorts!

I'm also interested in what size maps you used. The detail in them is incredible. Especially in that zoomed in shot of the canisters.

Awesome job! I really love it.

Being a huge spiderman fan i loved this instantly

Seriously though really great modelling and texture work. What programs did you use to create your model? Definitely inspires me to get better at Character Modelling! I'm currently doing the same as you with my portfolio as all my Univeristy models were rubbish.

I'd love to know how you modelled the mesh type thing that goes over his costume, the black netting that looks like a spiders web (can't think of what its properly called).

Also could we see your texture sheets if possible?

Thanks

Hey thanks for the comment. Wow you put effort into it so I am obliged to answer :P

Ok the textures were Targa 4 k, but could have been 2 k ( if not close up). It was a lot of texture work, panting, masking, layering in photoshop. It didnt take long to be honest, but I was beeing kind of carefull as this is my first finished model. Normaly I just model something, or half model it -_-.

The modeling itself was done all in 3Ds max 2010 which I recomend if you have cash, buy it. The graphite modeling took is just, amazing. Makes maya seem flimsy in comparison now.

But over all, in model I think the best advice I can give you is Just block out the form, dont think about topology so much, clean it up after. Just focus on the shape, the look, make it Iconic. There are some many amazing artists on this forum I am sure they would say the same.

Last thing, really think its important to take your time with your first model. Not rush, you will learn so much.
Holy crap!!! Hows that for a reply!!!!
Later bro
