i dont hang much on cdg, and certainly dont post anything there except useful coments and crits.
i come from dlcss, which you've probably never heard of

what were to happen if i requested a wire render, and the slide/barrel/frame dismantled? as far as i can see you modeled the chamber stuck to the slide.
p.s. please fix the thickness of the triggerhousing, that looks really off. imo it should be about 80% wider.

Looking at the pistol grip you could of saved yourself a truckload of polygons, especially in the ribs on the back of the grip. 90% of the time it will be covered by the characters hands and won't be seen so there's no sence in having all that modeled detail there.

Modelling the ridges at the back of the grip is useless
Most of it will be covered by the hand and it eats away polies.
Id say get rid of those and texture them.
If you do want to make them stick out more use a normalmap.

that actually looks like you just did some basic texture in photoshop and used ambient occlusion on the whole thing , still , it looks nice , but needs some more "shazzam"

sorry for the bump:
the thickness looks very nice now, but i would suggest you google some refs on the barrel/chamber piece. it's very inaccurate where the bullet enters the barrel.

being a custom model for a game, i wholeheartedly disagree. it does have quite a bit of wastage, but ive seen more pollies on a pistol.

I emphatically reinstate my opinion! :P

I'm just saying that I've made player models with the same amount of polies, and it just seems like a little too many - I'm sure you could trim it down with some backface deletion when it comes to puting it ingame, however it is rather a lot of polies for what is there, consider how much of the grip and trigger guard will be covered up by the hand models and look at how much detail you have put there.
