IceDome Maintenance Vehicle

I just realized, I never even posted these here and they're some of my best game 3D work.
These were made for a game we built pretty much from scratch for Microsoft's Imagine Cup, Doylle was also part of our team. We didn't win but made the top 20 (our co-students got 2nd place however).

Anyway, first thing is the player's vehicle. A fast hovering craft for getting around a frozen world fast and reliably, while being abel to defend and perform maintenance.

concept:

ingame menu scene mockup (the buttons never got to look this cool, and that transpallet is Doylle's old model)

Viewport screens with DoylleShader (tm)

diffuse texture. Base of this texture and some patterns were first done by Doylle and used on many assets, to keep style consistent

Outstanding, I love your attention to detail with the labels, vents, static ports etc. It adds dimension and to the overall design. Very inspirational work, keep it up ^^

Thanks man! You see this is were I got all those air placards for Recognizable references to reality are what make a fictional design believable and stand on its own, learned that from a concept-artist friend of mine.

some kick ass stuff you got there, those vents you made look 3D, rather than just putting 2D line patterns so thats good, and i love the detailed you put in the wing(with a fan). very sci-fi

I think the colors on the end of that exhaust would be better looking in the specular map

True, but I don't think our engine had specular color support.

Aye. The colouring on the exhaust really stands out and looks kind of unfinished, which is a shame seeing as the rest of it is done quite nicely.

Infact, I'm not even sure it's the colour, and not the base texture underneath it?

Hmmmm. Nice work anyways
