Talking Viking War-Hammer

Big: 1200*1600

Triangles: 742
Maps: Diffuse, Specular, Normal
Mapsize: 2048*2048

Used it to get started with zbrush and organic modelling.
Concept by a friend.

C&C welcome!

That looks really nice. The only suggestions I can think of are to take the texture size down by a power of two (2048's rather big) and to add some wear and tear on the edges of the hammer where it would have hit things. Still, great job.

Looks fantastic. Modeling and texturing both look spot on, and I love the hoof at the bottom.

The only thing which sticks out (to me anyway) is that the rope looks quite flat. Perhaps you could model it out a bit.

That's depending on what the hammers going to be used for, and polycount limits though.

Would you mind posting a wireframe image, and textures please?

Thanks for your replies!
I certainly will scale down to 1024 for ingame use. I just wanted to something high-res for the fun.
As for modeling stuff out: I tried adding detail at this late stage, but it scrambled the normalmap completely. I'd have to go back to high-poly-level and then bake again and it just is not worth it.
I learned that lesson for the next time.

Fair enough. Looks ggreat anyway. I suppose ingame you'd have hands over the handle, so it doesn't matter so much anyway.

Looks great, good job on keeping the poly count low.

Thank you, guys!

Here's the original concept:

The level-2-hammer will have ram-heads at the ends.
