a technical question, how can you have rust if the armour isn't made of iron?

Looks absolutely fantastic.
If I had to make any crits about it, it'd be about the armour. I think the scratches may be a little over the top in some areas, and also considering it's so scratched and worn, I'd except there would be a few bumps and dents in his armour. Other than that, I think it's looking badass. |

I absolutely F'N love him. But there's one thing that makes me really put off... The yellow is too sunburst yellow if you know what I mean, it it was only an orange-er sandy yellow. I just recently painted some German 251 Halftracks and Stugs for Flames of War- tabletop WWII game- and ran into the issue of trying to make a good looking dunkelgelb. I kept getting it too light when it needed a bit more of a orange sandy feel. Not exactly related but it's an example I had. I just don't think the yellow feels right and doesn't fit with the deep maroon.
Now that I'm done with the rambling paragraph of hate, which part of you must I eat to gain your talent? |

Didn't read the 2nd page, but you said you used the colors from the generic Tau.
Now I really don't mean this to come off as me saying you failed, so let me say it again it's amazing. That said, if you were shooting for the generic Tau colors, which if I remember from way back when I played 40k, was the T'au sept it's self- other septs other colors- you didn't get it. It's way more orange and a deeper red and maroon. That's kinda what I was trying to say in my other post, but didn't. Also, I always thought the amour was like ceramics, I dunno why maybe something I read in the codex... Yes, as a wee child I went nuts when Tau first came out and I have a sizable Tau collection to this day, in a box somewhere. |

I'll say it again guys - I am not using generic tau colours, I am recreating a painting from the warhammer art book, the colours are lifted straight from the Photoshop swatch of the scanned picture.
Xoliul - fair enough if you dont like the colours, but combining red yellow and blue is truely a no-go on characters??? thats a kinda ridiculous statement Bart Simpson, Superman, Thor from marvel comics, Cyclops from the X-men, He-man, Mario, Disneys Snow White, Woody from Toy Story, DC comic's Wonder Woman, Cartman from South Park are all designed using red yellow and blue colour schemes ![]()
