NHR Truck
Hi there,
This is my latest piece, an Isuzu NHR, wich is also sold by GMC and Chevrolet. On basis of a fairly simple mesh my aim was to kick the shit out it by the sweetest texture I can do. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Mesh: The total polycount is 3416 (triangles). I've wasted many polys on the driver's cabin interieur, I guess this is not essentially necessary for an ingame-prop, but in this particular case I just wanted to show that I am able to model the cabin's inside. Texture: The map is created in 2k and this size is also used for rendering to get a nice look. For ingame-use it might be downsized. Beside the diffuse-map I've also created a bump-map and a specular-map to get more detail into it. A reflection-map was used for the windows. Rgds patsy |

That's great stuff.
minor point of critique though, the diamond plated metal looks a bit off, I think it needs to be a bit darker / scratched, it looks a bit too clean / off at the moment. okay maybe not darker, but well something feels a bit off anyway. |

This is a really nice piece!
There's a few things that strike me as a bit odd. Firstly the Rust at the top of the just seems to stop completely at the line at the top of the truck and also the tyre tread looks too bright, either the colour is too bright or its too reflective / specular. What you could also add is finger marks where people slide there hands down the back, below and around the handle etc. " also comes in white " ![]()

you've done a great job of making an interesting model out of a pretty uninteresting vehicle
The thing that strikes me is how the dirt all seems to be in shades of grey, a little more colour would have helped a lot to break up the white surface

Thank you all very much for your crits so far!
Really love your feedback, it really helps me a lot. UnsteadyTeddy: About the tyres: I guess the guys using that vehicle recently had to buy new wheels cause the old ones where way to fucked up to use them any longer. But poor workers just did what had to be done and didn't care about the rest of the truck. (-, But anyway, I think you're right, the clean wheels might hardly fit into the whole idea of an heavily used car. Fingermarks are actually integrated, but you not noticing them shows me I worked them out to weak. Ghostscape: The intention of using the leaf-brushes was to tell a story; the car stood under a tree in autumn, leafs fell off, got wet and sticked on the roof. dust from the suburban surrounding continued to pile up on the roof. then once on some dry days they fell off and voila, leafstamps.... |

The rest of it looks ace, and the texturing of the leafstamps looks good, it just pops out as "photoshop leaf brush" rather than "leaves." |

Like Ben said....and I quote " My son, and my friend, and my fellow modeler, you have made a very unintersting model...interesting"
I pretty much agree ![]() I think some tweaks could be done to it here and there to make certain parts not stick out as much and things like that. I'd suggest being a little more selective with your rust instead of it running along the whole length of the sides. Either that or keep the rest of the model having that same amount of rust....distribute it more evenly around your model. While the model looks fairly new (aside from graffiti and other human damages) the sides have that rust pouring out. Just something to keep in mind for next time ![]() Also the scrapes on the sides, I like the color you have for them but the normal map is to strong on those. Backing them down a bit will make it feel a bit more natural. Continueing them down the side of the model more would make more sense too. Lastly is the gunshot in the glass. To me...it just seems very generic. I would much rather see a crack running up towards the center of the window instead of a gunshot. Like as he's tearing down the highway a little rock hits the windshield....you know those annoying rocks that decide to run into you just when you get a new windshield. My reason for saying this is, you want to try and make your model unique...and in this situation I'd say the crack would make more sense ![]() Good work tho dude, get us some more to look at! ![]()
