looks pretty good man. The bullet holes on the metal look really fake however, almost painted on or those retarded stcikers ppl put on their cars to make them seem like "gangstas". anyways id see how metal reall reacts to bullets, mostly it just punches it in without leaving a massive metal tear around the outside. the grimyness of the texture seem pretty good. efficiency wise i would put all the stuff with alphas on a smaller seperate map. seeing as it is all the same grating texture you could pull it off with a 128x128 tiling map and not see a major difference. 256 if you feel its necessary but it would probably look fine at 128 and tiled a couple times. id keep the diffuse at 1024 and downsize the spec and normal to 512. nice work on finishing this one.

I agree with the bullet holes comment. I can only speak from my experience. But, I feel if you take down the 1024 normal to a 512 you'll have some compression artifacting. I also use the UE3 engine. So...it might not be too bad in a 3d application render. I do like the alpha grates.
Did you do an underside? Our place brings it up in reviews constantly for vehicles. Great work man. |
