Could you please tell us more about the piece, i.e. what goals you have for it, engine limitations, etc? Criticism without context is worthless Thanks in advance.

I am not going to use any of it in game. It is the first scene I made in 3Dsmax and I wanted to see how good I am in creating a somewhat detailed texture for it. I did not care about polycount or any of that. I used a 2048x2048 uvmap for the street and the buildings. The trashcans are on a separat uvmap (1024x1024).

Hope that helps a little...sorry for not putting all the info when I was posting!!!

Be mindful about your scale. I just had an Art Director tell me how important scale is to an environment artist. I think your textures are fairly convincing, they could use some more "ware and tear". When observing your scene at first I think that the sign on the corner is too small/short. In actuallity I think several different pieces are just slightly off. I would take a closer look at the relationship between:
  1. trashcans
  2. signpost
  3. firescape
  4. water drain pipe
These four items are what my eye latches onto and they don't seem to exactly all fit together. I was told that inserting a human character just for reference could help.

Hope that critique doesn't sound too hard, keep up the good work.

I don't want to be picky but where is the grate underneath the pipe? i mean the water has to go somewhere
Everything else looks ok to me

Good scene but what i am missing is one of that big green/metal Dumpsters...
Also you could make the yellow stripes on the right site a bit darker and
dirtyer (to make more contrast).
Maybe some leafes here and there over the floor and some modeled
pieces of newspaper which are "flying/rolling"(have no good word atm)
along the street. That would add more atmosphere to the scene.

I hope that helped you

I like it, but like micster said some more wear and tear would go better with the scene. This street/alley or whatever looks like it's isn't very well maintained. Garbage cans could be a little more beat up as well as the drain pipe could have some more rust. But thats just my opinion. Hope this helped
