			<title>Unfold3D Generation 8 unfolds one million triangles mesh</title>

			<description><![CDATA[The Polygonal Design team is happy to announce the generation 8 (http://www.polygonal-design.fr/e_unfold/newversion.php) of our UV unwrapping software Unfold3D (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=pEMnnE6D9zk).

Following customer requests, we improved the UI display rate and the unfolding core now handling much bigger meshes. That was indeed a big challenge, but result is that we really could get unwrap of a one million triangles meshes into one single island/shell (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdEKECTFl-A&feature=youtu.be). Of course unwrapping such meshes is not a daily job for everyone, but now working with smaller ones (like about 100 000 quads) is fluent and when you click on "unfold", you simply get the UVs with lowest distortion possible in less than 10 sec.

Consequently, common process :
1 marking seams 
2 click unfold 
3 adjusting seams (if needed)
4 click unfold again...
... over and over, until getting desired results, has never been so fast and comfortable.

We also did big work for the OSX version (mountain lion), solving some of the porting issues present in old version 7. The OSX version is now great and offers even better performances than the windows version (especially about viewport display rate).

This new release comes out with a new multi-grid UV layout (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=qEO5UlOu21Y) for other tools that use the UDIM UV-offset system, like mari, and new selection and editing features.

Unfold3D Generation 8 is available now for Windows and Mac OS X 10.8. Freelance Edition license costs € 299 (about US$ 390) and a single network floating licence costs €699 (about US$ 920) including one year Software Subscription Program. 			<title>Seeking 2D artist and animator for top down dungeon crawl</title>

			<description>Hello, over the past few months I have been working on a top down dungeon crawler style game (combat similar to that of Binding of Isaac). All in all the majority of coding has been completed and the only remaining large issue to solve is that of art and animation.

I would like someone who knows how to animate characters as well as draw them, and that are willing to discuss the style in which they are to be presented. I will list below the assets that I would wish to be drawn.

Static images: Floor Tiles, walls, obstacles (boulders, rubble etc), item icons 

Animated images: player, a variety of enemies, fire and other elements, bosses, the shots (bullets) fired by the player and enemies.

As the game progresses, the players environment will change from dirt, to rock and to ancient ruins, therefore there is a lot of work required. If yo are interested and would like to ask me any more questions please feel free to do so.

			<title>UDK Rendering Cinematic</title>

			<description><![CDATA[Hey guys, I have been trying to render a cinematic of my enviroment with UDK, but since I am not familiar with this engine I followed this tutorials UDK Creating a Video Sequence - Dave Wilson*3D Artist (http://ubudave.weebly.com/udk-creating-a-video-sequence.html) (not every single video because I used 1 camera instead of 2 and I only used the camera movement and no FOV). 

What happens is that in Part 5, when I enter the codes in the shortcut and start it, it does not render my matisse sequence, instead it appears like if I start playing instead of playing that sequence, I tried to figure out myself what the problem may be but no luck.

Hope someone can help me with this, It's the final step to get this environment finished :D

			<title>UDK Particle/Distortion Issue</title>

			<description><![CDATA[I'm fiddling with a particle system that creates a distortion effect for my "fire" hair, but for some reason the distortion disappears on the opposite side of the head.  In the following image, you can see the hair is distorted on the left side(green circle), but unaffected on the right(red circle, the background is still picking up the distortion though?).

The particle system was originally set up with one emitter in the center of the head, but when I encountered this problem, where one side was not picking up the distortion, I duplicated the emitter and offset them 10 units opposite from each other.  The result is, depending on if you are seeing the front or back of the hair, I get the distortion to show up on opposite sides of the head, but only one emitter distortion shows up on the hair at a time(the background seems to be still affected).

I thought it might be the material, but I don't understand how it could distort the background still, but ignores the hair depending on which way you're facing.  

I've messed around with it for a couple of days trying to figure it out, but I'm stumped.  Maybe someone with more experience and super powers can point me in the right direction?

We just passed $10 million and are still going strong.

Led by Chris Roberts of Wing Commander fame, we are the game that will bring PC gaming and space sims back to the forefront of digital entertainment. 

We are developing on the Cry Engine. We model in Max & Maya. Our universe is enormous. Our worlds are vast and compelling. We have human and alien characters and worlds. Our models are very high res in-game, and start out even higher res. Our ships are detailed inside and out. Our in-game characters are over 50K polys.  

We are looking for top-notch digital concept artists of all sorts. Obviously, we concentrate on sci-fi and space, but great art is great art. We want the best. We have a team of great people around the world we are working with already, including first rate people from Hollywood and Europe, but need more.

We are looking for contractors who can work either full-time or part-time. If we like your portfolio, we request bids, then create a contract for each project to protect both parties. We have cloud-based review software and access, making communication and feedback easy and fluid. Art direction comes from Chris Roberts and our Art Director, Chris Olivia, who has spent the last fifteen years in films.
