This is coming along really well! Keep up the good work.

Question: Did you create any concept sketches or go straight into sculpting?

I have been trying to come up with a good idea all weak to no avail. I'm thinking I might just go straight into sculpting and hopefully come up with something that I like on the fly.

Hey thanks, I didn't concept anything no. It was just an idea that I saw in my head when I read the Oolark description, so I jumped straight into zbursh lol. Don't think about trying to come up with something all amazing and mind blowing, if you're frustrated with the concept stage just go have some fun with dynamesh and see what happens.

That's where I started last night. For over a week I've been racking my brain trying to come up with the perfect concept. The problem is I'm not that great of a hand artist, and this is really my first time coming up with any character concept.

I really want it to be perfect though but maybe going straight to sculpting might be better for me. I suppose everyone has their own ways of coming up with a good concept.

All you the work I've seen looks to be shaping up to be some thing grand and I can't wait to see more.

I love your work!absolutely an inspiration

For now, post your work here. The deadline is still some time away, but we'll let you know where to post your final.

I just wonder about the image size - I don't see any of art to be 1920/1080
can why use different size ?

Thanks in advance

WIP_03 Oolark:Worker

So moving on to the Oolarks, seeing how they have a strong engineering background, my thinking was that the majority would possibly be workers, wearing overalls and a tool belts strong boots, thick gauntlets, welding masks , magnifying goggles so-forth. And each ranking on top of that of the Oolarks would have a different look, all the way up to their leader, who is the most distinctive by the way he dresses.

The sculpt you see here is a basic massing out of the overalls boots etc in symmetry before its refined, I’ve also sculpted the leader of the Oolarks in his outfit just to show the possible differences between the ranks, (ill post him at a later date as a comparison).

The next stage is to refine the overalls boots etc, build the tool belt, mask /magnifying goggles.
