Dominance War V - 3D - Polygoblin - Alpha Canine
I was hesitant to enter the challenge because of my packed schedule and other things, but I said "to hell with sleep" and am dedicating my sword to the battle!
Main Idea: My idea is to make the God of all dogs. The dog that other dogs pray to for guidance, companionship, and cats to chase. My idea is not to make a dog warrior, or a dog monster, but the benevolent leader of all packs. Not a furry, but a real dog's spiritual leader. She is a kind but stern goddess. Her leadership and intelligence is never questioned, and every movement speaks volumes to her confidence. Her ferocity is matched only by her sensuality. When dogs kick there feet in there sleep, it's because they are running with Alpha. No dog is alone with her in their hearts. Reference Sheet: ![]() Concept: ![]()

"Hulk Dong" lol. I remember there is a special feature on the "Hulk" dvd all about this dogfight scene, and I believe they may have had shown the finished models of all three dogs. Wish I kept that awful movie, if only for that reason...Doing some sketches and trying to figure out how I can sell the "god" aspect of him. I was thinking a extravegant harness similar to the one that the "real" pit is wearing (top pic) because I'm afraid that a crown could hide the docked ears and signature head shape. Also, I was going to go with glowing eyes (good or evil; haven't decided) and possibly some Egyptian-esque forearm bands. I'll search for that special feature and upload my sketches soon.

Same to you, my friend
![]() Here are some quick sketches I did today while I was out and about. Just playing with shapes, and trying to get a mood of my character. I will use photo ref basically for anatomy, but I want some kind of flavored concept to work from. Need to get better at this phase... ![]() Starting to think of armor plates, or anything I can use to hide as much hair as possible (never done much hair). I got some ideas, but I gotta flesh them out to see if they're worth mentioning. Still wide-open. I'm excited ![]()

The crown on the first concept kinda gives off more of a feminine vibe in my opinion, although once there is some armour on there maybe fine.
The second concept kinda reminds me a of gargoyle, so you might be able to grab some refrence from there. I find when its your own concept alot of what you want is actually just in your head and will come out when you model it. But nothing wrong with improving in concepting, its one of my weaknesses too.

Hehe, I've got to stick to my sketchpad. It's a little embarrassing with my current pencil skill level, but I NEED to improve, so I keep pushing I won't spend too much time concepting for this one, though. They're are thousands of dog pics, after all....I'll look up some gargoyle stuff. I bet it'll help finding epic poses and other stuff.

Okay, bought the dvd and the bonus feature I was talking about is amazing. It had the breakdowns like I said and this is the one dog I'm talking about. On thing, though. He's a Mastiff, not a Pitbull...
![]() This should be pretty good reference for me to move forward. Working on "god stuff" now...
