Game-Artist Mini-Challenge #4 Winners! Ex-Ray and Miguel3D
Game-Artist Mini-Challenge #4 Winners! Game-Artist and CGSociety would like to congratulate our GAMC#4 - Turbine winners. Ex-Ray took out first prize with his entry. Astounding textures and great attention to detail. I really liked Ex-Ray's design. It kept to the original concept, but really took on a better shape. It looks a lot better with the more cylindrical look than that vase shape. Excellent textures, and really good scene set up(shadows look too good
).

Hey, thanks for all the people that voted for me, I'm surprised by the amount considering there were a lot of great entries.
For the record, yes a 1024 was used. I optimized my UV's by only unwrapping one half of the turbine body and mirroring it, overlapping as much as I could get away with, prioritizing texel density coverage in relation to its physical size and visibility to the viewer to provide decent resolution. I noticed that RedAppleIvy & laughing_bun also mirrored their turbine body with great success. I've enjoyed this competition and would like to thank khendar & urgaffel for organizing it and I look forward to the next one, hopefully it will have less drama ![]() |
