Here is my Grand idea, Game-Artist.net receives judges/volunteers, up to 11 that will not be able to participate in the contests until their judge spot has been replaced, out of these 11 judges

4 - Have some be Young and Developing Game Artists/Students Or Game Art Enthusiests
3-5 - Have some mid aged That have industryExperience, or the above^ (pref at least 3 with real world industry experience)
2-6 - Have some be judges that don't do 3D art, maybe Photographers or engineers

And also have a contest with multiple winners, the first second third thing does boost the self esteem of the three and everybody that comes close to those spots, it is a crown of glory but as we can see here there is varying artwork. This is just a suggestion, dont rip me down for it

Catagories of Judging:
Best Clean Model
Best Dirty Model
best LowPoly Model
Best Render?
And maybe have another catagory that would be most "improved" model or have any catagory you want really, i'd say limit it to 3 or 4 because of the number of entrants that i notice on average, maybe you would want to start with 2 catagories just for testing it, not my call

I love the contests and hope what i give can help I plan on participating in the next one i get time to do so.

again, just an idea take it as you like

That's quite disappointing. I didn't have the time for the last few and was looking forward to being able to join the next one and if it's in January I doubt I'll be able to join since being back in college would again fill my plate.

It's not bad ideas, just a bit hard to do in practice. Finding 11 people to do the judging and making sure it doesn't take forever is harder than you might think. And while more categories would be cool, we need to get prizes for everyone We'll keep it in mind though, see if we can come up with something interesting for the future.
