Hicksen...If you save the texture and then open it in photoshop you'll see the diffuse is a 1024. Now if you're saying that he used a 2048 in his render but turned in a 1024 as a texture then that's a different story. In all honesty I could care less if he used as 2048 or a 1024 his model and texture is the best entry, I don't like clean textures but he made a perfect stylized realism piece with just the right amount of detailing in the right places.

We have to judge not based on friends, not based on either a good model or good texture but a package as a whole. Look at everything, the model, the attention to detail, look at the texture work and see if the scratches, grunge etc work well in the right places. To me I didn't vote for any of the clean models because its much easier to slap together a clean texture and make it look nice. This is about pushing yourself and making game ready assets not making perfect 3d renders but that's just me.

I seem to be missing a few images, anyone else not seeing the entries from biskit and biruts?

^^ I can not see them either. I did not check everyone elses, but the both of them have thier images stored on ImageShack. I assume ImageShack server problems or something.

I enjoyed jamoka's entry.

The GAMC has always been voted on by the public. Its usually the big challenges such as SFAM that had a designated judging panel.

I can see all of the images in the thread but some seem to be missing when I click on them. I assume that its an imageshack issue. Hopefully it will resolve itself, otherwise I might get the two entrants to submit their pieces to another host.

I might be wrong but I think he either meant why it's a public poll or why everyone (not only participants) are allowed to vote. These changes occoured before the transfer however so lemme fill in on that.

The reason it's a public poll is because the staff will now be able to see weather someone voted for themselves or not.

And the reason why everyone is allowed to vote is because it was the will of the users. Not every wish is granted but the forum is afterall for you *cough* I mean us guys

I was expecting him to come back and provide support for his accusation. Since none was forthcoming, I've not removed the post.

If you're going to accuse people of cheating, contact the forum leaders directly and provide evidence.
