You can add a glow fullscreen effect in max. It's in the utilities tab, click the "More" button, then pick "Scene Effect Loader". This allows you to apply post fx files and max comes with a couple of them. You can find them in \Program\Autodesk\3ds Max 2009\maps\fx\scene (depending on your max version). I recommend the glow shader (post_glow.fx). Try a few different ones to see what they do. To change their settings, just double click the the name and it opens them up in the material editor.

Marmoset (toolbag) doesn't support glow map it's the same problem (neither gloss map).
The best should be UDK or cry Engine I agree but I have to spend more time on it to get a result as good as 3dsmax or Marmoset in term of lighting. If anyone have good tutorials on beauty renders with these engines I'm interested in it (more focused than leveldesign). |
