if you don't produce a high poly model to suppliment the lowpoly and make normal map, are you screwed then? Feels like I want to join but I don't master the next gen process yet

I wouldn't say you'd be screwed, but a highpoly would help a lot with an object like this. You should defiantly try and participate if you want some practice though, I learned a ton about the process from working on the first few of these mini comps.

Also seconded Psylo's question, no glow maps?

In this particular challenge are are focussing on the prop only. If you want to include a beauty shot with a bit of scenery in your WIP thread thats fine but your final submission images should be of the engine only.

Combining the black and white textures into one file is fine but it will still count as one alpha, one gloss and one whatever. Glowmaps are ok, I'm guessing someone wants to make glowy techy bits perhaps?

somebody notice the deadline time in the submission tread is said to be Friday , Dec 6th..... >>>is dec 6th not Sunday???

The hole prop must be textured using 1 diffuse,bump and so on at 1024x1024 or I can use multiple 1024x1024 textures in a subobject material? Thanks in advance
