Yea I get that, but shouldnt there also be these restrictions/guidelines for both style and texturing/coloring ect... My point being that the only place there is resctriction is in the geometry department, instead of just saying the overall theme is "shoes" or whatever and give some inspirational pointers.

Not that I want to change it now, I just thought it was a valid topic for discussion for future competitions.

Thanks for the input. If people decide that they want a more open style competition it might be something we will look into for future challenges.

I assume that the gap of time is also stretched.

Right?

In the submission guidelines it is mentioned like this:
1 x Screengrab

1 x Link to wireframe

1 x Link to full size maps, merged into one image.

"1 x..." means 'one image' or '1 or more'?

If we store various masks into one texture RGB and have the shader access those (counts as one texture lookup, as you're sampling the same pixel), can we do that, and have that count as one texture?

Secondly, 1024 diffuse, does that mean that it all has to be mapped to one 1k texture or does that mean the diffuse textures combined must equal 1k or less?

Thanks for your time.

Hey guys!

I just have a quick question - Does the mesh need to be built with any consideration to the possibility of animation, or should we build it as a static mesh?

My main concern would be the rear turbine blades.

Thanks!

It's a static mesh. The final product is to be shown in a screenshot. Though you could animate it after the competition is over if you want to.
