Competition #9 Zeinthar

Well, I don't got much to do, a bit too tired to continue at the character as max crashed and I'll have to redo a lot of things, so I'll get back to that one later.

Anyways, here's how far I've gotten.

I'm going for a wall, roof and floor texture. As you see I've only gotten to the wall just yet. Thought about adding a wallpaper to the larger area of the wood. I might try that later. well, I hope I'll be able to finish in time

The normals ain't that perfect, some thing lost a lot of depth due to too sharp angles, but it took me about 2 hours or something to render the normal map, so.. It'll have to do for the moment. I'm probobly going to overlay another normal map on the existing with a normal map done with the diffuse in Crazybump.

Thanks mate, and you are indeed correct.
Myself, I'm starting not to like it, it's a bit too simple imo

/edit
But it just got better

Have to fix the colour on the wall breaker wallpaper tho, it doesnt match the rest.
And the lil' square in the pic is the roof texture. But now I need some rest... sheesh.. it's 4 o' clock in the morning O_o

Sometimes the simpler things in life are what w most cherish. Now it looks better and not as bland as before with all wood, but the stain looks strange to me. I cant imagine wall paper with that type of stain. Remember its WALL paper.

Thanks for the c&c
Well, I fixed the stain, looking better now?

It's too bad that I don't got that much time to finish this, should have started out a bit earlier. So, I'm kinda hasting the work, which will obviously lead to a worse outcome than if I had all the moth to work with this. But for a couple of hours work I'd say I'm atleast satisfied with it. Also, it's both fun, and I learned a new thing; that adding white lines at the edges gives it a feeling of having more relief.. well, not sure if anyone understood what I ment, but I'm not very good at explaining things.. and my english ain't that perfect either.. anyways, enough talking, here's the update

The breaker for the roof texture, the white one, is kinda another kind of roof, but as it still tiles with the other, it's allowed as a breaker, right?

Very nice. I like it.

I think the horizontal wood bars should have horizontal woodgrain.

Ah yes, thanks for telling me! or I would probobly not have fixed it
Well, there'll be an update shortly, along with a marble floor.

Should probobly start working on a new sig aswell, this one is bothering me.. too.. annoying ^^

/edit

I tried to fix the direction of the woodgrain... but it just looked terribly odd.. so I'm afraid I'll have to keep it the way it is.

Here's an update showing all the textures in one scene. I'll get a render for each one of the with its breaker, but I'm so terribly worked out atm so I can't bother fixing it now. Anyway, here it is.

looks good dude. I like the details but I think you need to pick if its going to be clean or weathered.

Wood grain looks really flat all around. When you do your crazy bump pass try and push the wood grain more. Try and do an overlay with some real wood or add just a bit of noise. Looks like your going for a pretty weathered look. Keep pushing that throughout.

AO on your wall texture around the lower detail looks to strong. Not sure if its painted or baked but seems like it could use a softer gradient.

anyway just some quick thoughts.. getting back to my project
