Competition #9 - LOOM


1st normal and ambient occlusion textures.

i tryed tilting the shapes on the edges to give a little more depth at one angle. it looks alright in max atm. Will post updates 2moro.

ahhh, what joy this brings to see the Ryanator at large again!
looking great dude, only thing I find weird is that the center circle looks facing head on, and the four smaller ones in the corners are facing up?

yeh, im not sure- just trying out a few things
I started a bit on the diffuse last night, will post a max dx9shot when i get home from work.
(i also found that i hadnt placed the middle round contraption directly in the centre...woops... but ah well)

Home from Work now, heres a shot of wat ive got so far. Diffuse has a long way to go yet! (specular is also a quick temp)

I think you could get more life ni your metal, it looks very matte and plasticy just now

how did you do the occlusion texture? thats sweet

in render to texture, select render a "lightingmap". remember to have lighttracer activated and a skylight in the scene while rendering.
