Against the wall! - Specifications & Rules
![]() Theme Games need more than models alone. They also need great textures. Because we had a relative high polycount for our latest competition, we're going for the other extreme with this competition. Your mission is to create a set of 3 tileable textures with a common theme of choise. The textures have to be tileable in one direction minimum, with for each texture one breaker. Every texture must have at least a normal, diffuse and specular map. You are not obliged to use a high poly model for your normal map, but we definitely encourage it, since that will be the only modeling you'll have to do for this competition. note: A breaker is a texture that will tile in with the normal one but that has something unique about it to break the pattern - a door, pillar, some kind of panelling, pipes, etc... You are allowed to make this texture 512 or 256 pixels wide. Maximum Triangles 2 triangles for each texture, being a perfect square. (12 tris in total for all 6 textures). Textures on planes with more or less than 2 triangles are not allowed. Maximum Textures 1024 x 1024 Diffuse (obliged) 1024 x 1024 Specular (obliged) 1024 x 1024 Normal (obliged) 1024 x 1024 Alpha 1024 x 1024 Glow All Geometry and Textures must be new and created by yourself for this competition, using previous assets is not an option. Submission Guidelines Entry Deadline is the End of Wednesday the 6th of June GMT +-0 as time zone. (changed) Work in Progress should be posted by yourself in a seperate thread named by using the prefix "Competition #9" and your Username as thread title, i.e. "Competition #9 - doylle". This is highly recommended if you may want to receive some advice and feedback before submitting. Please structure it in a fashion that is understandable and post regular updates. Final Submissions should be posted by yourself in the thread titled "Competition #9:Agains the wall - Submissions". Please note that to be able to submit, your entry must be a complete piece. Partially complete or incomplete, will be disqualified. Provide the following in the Submissions thread:
