Post-Apoc Vehicle ! - Specifications & Rules



Theme

Life has changed, after multiple world wars ending in 2010, society has collapsed. The remainder of civilization has formed small groups / militias / factions everywhere fighting to protect their own interests as well as scavenge more resources. With no infrastructure left, survivors pool their talent to build vehicles from spare parts, various scrap and whatever makes for a solid ride. Your mission, is to create a post apocalyptic vehicle. It will be pieced together from various items, robust and motorized.

Prizes

1st Place will win a full version of Luxology's modo worth $895 !

There is also a modo Hoodie which will be given to a random contestant who used Modo for the large majority of his or hers entry !

All Geometry and Textures must be new and created by yourself for this competition, using previous assets is not an option.

Submission Guidelines

Entry Deadline is the End of Wednesday the 2nd of May GMT +-0 as time zone. (changed!)

Work in Progress should be posted by yourself in a seperate thread named by using the prefix "Competition #8" and your Username as thread title, i.e. "Competition #8 - requiem2d". This is highly recommended if you may want to receive some advice and feedback before submitting. Please structure it in a fashion that is understandable and post regular updates.

Final Submissions
should be posted by yourself in the thread titled "Competition #8 Post-Apoc Vehicle - Submissions". Please note that to be able to submit, your entry must be a complete piece. Partially complete or incomplete, will be disqualified.

Provide the following in the Submissions thread:
  • Beatuy Render of Final Piece 800x600
  • Link to Wireframe of Final Piece 800x600
  • Links to all texture sheets used (original size)
  • E-mail Address to be used if you are to win any of the prizes
Failure to meet the above or incorrectly post your submission will be brought to your notice a single time, if the issue has not been fixed by the contest deadline, the entry will be eliminated. If you attempt to cheat by either not following the rules above, copying work or using past works you will be disqualified immediately (without notice).

As contestant, you agree for us to share your email address with Luxology, the creators of Modo. You also agree that your final image be used on either Luxology.com (if made in modo) or Game-Artist.Net). Game-Artist.net reserves the right to amend any of the above during the course of the Contest.

Nice idea I think I'll try to enter this one. By the way your link to the tutorials in the top post leads to the mudbox tutorials and not the modo ones.

ooooh post apoc....

just a simple question - what if you had like a beast of burden, cow/plough horse pulling along the vehicle (th old-school tow)? or does the vehicle have to move via its own engine/motion/mechanics?

again ooh post apoc..:P
