Haha this is like the ultimate nitpicking but shouldnt this be in another forum than Low Poly Competition? Since its... a high poly competition i mean.

Unless this is fixed i will go crazy!!1~~1

Think of this as practice for when we will have a lowpoly competition where you will have to normal map something using a highpoly model. We also had a texturing competition where the lowpoly model was provided. Most of the competitions here are trying to simulate what you will go through while working on a game project so the name of the section will not change. Game art is not just about lowpoly models. Hm... maybe it would be cool to change the name to Game Art Competitions ... since we are Game-Artist.net :-P

Yep thats a good idea, why not rename it to Game Art competitions?

ah- I just downloaded the trial, and i am about halfway through the trial period - should i just download it again for a new 12/15 day trial? - cause if i can't re-new or participate halfway through the comp, i'll be very dissapointed....

and will there be any 'marks off' if the finished model not entirely smooth - due to pcspec limitations?

When we started this we we though we might have other kind of competitions (texturing, highpoly). If people ask for something like this w will have Texturing Competition and High Poly Competitions sections in the Challenges. Even if we had one texturing competition and one highpoly competition it doesn't mean that we should have made different sections, we must have one competition each month to keep something like that going. I hope this is clear Now let's go back to our spheres!

I think you should have said this in the Spheres Break Loose ! - Expired Trial thread... now it might be too late. You still have one week left so take advantage of that and give your best. Because of the limitations of your computer I guess you won't be able to make a lot of small details but I don't see how this could stop you from making something unique and funny. There won't be any 'marks off' just because you didn't go to level 10 of subdivisions

how do i create a sphere with lower polygon count? or isn't it posible?
