Very interesting piece, nice design, good texture. Keep it up.
I have one thing though, very small but which can improve the look greatly i think. The handle misses some real detail (i mean the wooden part). Some dirt, fabric wrapped around, leather, etc. Just to break the long handle appart... Other than that, top notch |

thanks for all the replies and comments guys, I appreciate it. I changed a few parts (most noticeably the grip) and dirtied everything up a bit. still got to take out a few visible seams and create the proper spec map...
and I don't like the lighting atm, gotta fix that one too. ![]()

Looks great, and if you fix the things you are talking about it will look perfect. Good job!
Why not place them on a plane or something like that ...? A shadow under a model gives it a more realistic feel.

this is pretty much the final thing (except for one glitch in the normal map between the grip and the head, gonna fix that later), in case there's anything wrong with it please tell me. otherwise I'm gonna post it tonight in the finished thread.
