OK. For a twohanded weapon's handle it looks fine then .
![]() But, the blade (metal section) looks maybe a bit too hinder (in my opinion, as with the height on y-axis) on the part next to the handle part? I'd say if you had normal iron on the blade you'd break it of you hit it to a harder surface... But that's just my opinion, your thought might be a magically hardened weapon, so it's up to you (And remember, the artistoiuc). Remember, it's just my opinion. ![]() Can you link to the reference image if you have one? ![]() |

I'd suggest you using your remaining tri's to smooth the silhouette of front edge of the blade. Right now you have 4 edges, which is less than the back curve of the blade. I think you might be able to squeeze another 1 or 2 edges. It'll make a lot of difference, and you'll get rid of the high number of surplus tri's you have in stock.
Other than that, I think it's looking sweet ![]() G

looking good so far, I like the simplicity of it. my only crit is that the part where the metal hits the grip looks a bit funky with the tris going slightly up/down instead of staying on the same level as the rest of the loop.

Glynn: Thanks for the tip. I didn't even think about adding detail to make the blade look smoother.
Weasel: There is a link to one of the reference photos in one of my previous posts. It's hard to see, but at the center of the metal part there is a pointed section that goes up and down. I've got a larger image of the axe, but I can't seem to find it again on google, or I would link you to it, so as to let you get a better look of what I'm talking about. Thanks goes to both of you for giving me your crits of my axe. I'll work on it as soon as I get time, and hopefully I'll finish it in time to submit my entry. |
