Awesome, that's what I figured it to be, but I thought I'd check. Cheers for clearing that up

Do the maps have to be 512x512 or can we use maps that are 512x256 as well?
If I unwrap my model to a 512x512 map, there will be a lot of wasted space on the UVs.

Fleistad, probably you are allowed to use 512x256 since it's under the limit
I was actually planning to do a few medieval weapons, so this will just be a great start.

whichever is equal or smaller is good. If you think that you don't need the 512*512, no need to use them...

I am a little confused. Neither gladiator, nor 300 fits into "medieval", also, it says "realism", but some magical weapons allowed. So am I right if I am considering this theme as Fantasy weapon?

As the comp states (movies shouldn't be taken literally, I'll just remove them next time to avoid confusion)::

Quote:
This should be a complete model from all angles and be something that you primarily use for assault (i.e. shields don't count). The term weapon is broad, so if you're up to making a crossbow or catapult, feel free to do so ! Full fledge vehicles such as a Warships are however excluded. In terms of style, Realism / FPS.

Some of these items are listed here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_medieval_weapons
Regarding realism, as I stated above, it's meant as style, so no cartoon entries.

I think I will join this one, My first contest ever! Good luck to all!
One question:
Gladiator was used as an example and in the lists of medieval weapons, it mentions "Spatha" a sword that was used by the Romans. Those are late ancient weapons, So are we somewhat allowed to create an Ancient weapon, before the middle ages, or is the contest strictly Late Ancient and Middle ages?
