I know its a bit of a stretch but I found this much more interesting for me to make than yet another cube crate. :P
![]() oh and this in no way reflects my viewpoint on whales, its something I remember seeing on a box back from when I skated and went to this one skatepark near here. to clarify.. this is a skateboard "box" as in a built obstacle to skate on... 'tis much fun. Last edited by Meotwister; 20-01-2007 at 04:47 AM. |

yeah I know what you mean by being kinda overwhelming.. but if you've ever seen some of these.. think about all of what a skateboard rolls over especially on a wet day then all that smacking down on some fresh plywood.
But as you suggested I'll probably adjust it a bit. Thanks |

Oooh, now i see. It's a box for skaters where they canactualy skate on (with grind bar). I thought it was just a box with fancy stickers...
<- Stupid ![]() In that case, i would make the metal edge brighter, since that will be polished by all the skating... |

The black spot actually doesn't look too bad (people just need to understand it's context when judging). I agree with doylle on the metal. Get some horizontal gray lines on there with small variations in angle and then follow through with an *almost* white specular only for those lines. Will look great (of course you can ignore that and just create the marks through a normal map). Good luck, look forward to the final

Looks good, maybe put some wax stains on the wood next to the metal, back when I used to skate, people rubbed candles down the metal box section and it got all cloudy brown on the wood, could be a nice touch. And like the comments above, horizontal scratches and blemeshes going down the metal would help it.
Forgot to add; Screws should be present also .Last edited by Pankake; 20-01-2007 at 05:27 AM. |
