Heya guys.
This is my take on the crate. It's supposed to be a crate from the not-too-distant future. Which has just been sitting in the back of a warehouse for a few years. ![]() ![]() It's 140 tris and is using a 512x512 diffuse and normal map. I'm not too great at texturing, so this was a good excuse to finally do something about it. The brown/red'ish patches are supposed to be rust... First you need a Specular Map too. It is metal, and even though it is old and rusted it still needs to reflect a little light. As for the diffuse... I don't know... maybe give it a little more contrast.

Thanks for the feedback! I've done as you suggested, as well as some other skin edits (for the better I hope). Though I'm rather unfamiliar with specular maps, so please let me know if I've done it all wrong - cheers. :P
Here's what I have now: ![]() (Please excuse the large render, just off to bed and don't really have time to resize right now) If you want to see my maps and shaded/wired renders go here (excuse the watermarks, I've always been a tad over-cautious :P) Also, tricount was a mistake on my behalf, it's actually only 140 - edited the first post with that now. |
