Been busy with other non-game related 3d-projects so it feels good to finally be able to post some WIP here again.
![]() Behold, I call it ChronoCrate! You can probably guess why. Texture ain't finished as you can see. I have a problem figuring out how to get those white areas transparent, except the clock faces of course. :P Under the grate hides a surprise. ![]() ![]() |

Interesting. You use this crate for what? Transport time?
Anyway... cool idea. You need an opacity map to make the white transparent there. It is a texture that has white where you want it to be transparent and black where you want it to be opaque. If you use max there is Opacity Slot in the Material Editor.

I'm sure it it the same idea... the opacity map is the same... I just don't know where you have to put it. Maybe someone that uses Maya can help.

Played the demo long ago, and don't remember very much but who knows, I may have got inspired from it without knowing it.

Got the alpha to work and tested bumpmapping. Going to draw a new marker on the clockfaces that'll look better and more thicker. How do I add a specularmap in maya?
