The modeling looks good. You've used all the polys, very nice
Can we see a UV layout? The texture looks very good, even if it is still wip.

Very nice work. I realy like your wood texture, nj there.
Normal map realy starts to look great, but i would emphasize the 'nail-holes' more. And maybe add some logo or text to your texture, can be very subtle, but now it's looking awfully clean... |

It's nice and all, but it's clear that you just used a wood photo on the entire UV, and not choped up random bits. You know, 2 different woodboards wouldn't tile. If you just cut out and paste on another spot, it would look more realistic.
What did you use for the normal map? Crazybump? |

Yeah. I used CrazyBump.
I find it superior to both the nVidia plug-in for Photoshop and the ATI tool. About the textures lining up, well, I assume that you are referring mostly to the lid. The reason the two planks are lining up is because the lid actually consisted of a single wooden board at an earlier stage of the texturing. I later decided that if the lit were to be made out of one piece, then the two crossing planks on top of it would be pretty much useless. Now that I think about it, I might break up all of the sides into two pieces of wood. |
