Here is my traditional wooden crate
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It has 108tris. I'll work on the texture a little more tomorrow, to give it the small detail and to fix stuff that I've missed and after that make the bump, normal and spec maps. To make the normal map I will use just Photoshop... I don't see a need for a highpoly here. I hope to finish tomorrow so I can start doing a hightech one ![]() What do you guys think?

It's definately cool, I think you should highlight the outfacing edges and not shade them, and break up the decals where the gaps in the planks are and paint a few nails in, otherwise it's pretty neat.
Oh and there should be another gap where the two planks meet shown in red here and on the opposite side: ![]() Aaron. |

Good eye Pankake
![]() I'm almost done. I think I'll start working on the normal map. I'm going with something very very simple, I don't really want the scratches to stand out. Here is the model with the finished diffuse: ![]() ![]()

I actually prefered the first version of the texture, i think shading you added along the edges is a bit much but i guess its a matter of preference. One thing you might want to get rid off tho is the normalmapping on your decals
Unless its actually etched/burned into the wood ![]() |
