Blunkka

Greetings to everybody.

Modelling stage should be about done now. I hope I'll find time soon to start uvmapping it.

It looks like good modeling, but I think you may have missed the point with a crate here. Crates are supposed to be more generic, low poly filler props and having your crate open showing a rocket just doesn't look like a filler prop to me.

Yeah I thought I'd may be moving on the brink of the rules. I imagined the box would be sealed and say if a player grabs it with a grav gun it would open and the top cover would kinda flap free (a bit like those cardboard boxes in hl2). Hehe, of course the rocket not falling out of the box may look a bit funny.

I'd like to hear a few more opinions about this issue. It's not too late to change the design and make it completely sealed.

This is a crate that would fit in a FPS so I don't think there is anything wrong with the design. We couldn't diversify our "boxes" if we would be constraint to making just a closed crate and nothing else. I was thinking of making a glass crate with something inside. I'll probably do that after I finish my wooden crate

Well here's a roughly ready texture for it. There are a couple small things I'm probably going to add after I've gotten on working with the normal map.

Reminds me of the Panzerschrek ammo pickups in Medal of Honour for the PS1. Nicely done

Crate "fill" could have some more colour, maybye yellow tone? Also get some sharpen filter on this thingeh

EDIT: Also, for now the crate looks like carved from 2 pieces of wood, try to paint seams were wood planks connect.
