Hi,

Well I guess I will try and see what I can do for this competition. I decided to re-do the bio Rifle. I came up with a concept and modeled this really quickly. I've modeled the stuff I need to, but I'm not sure if i want to add more geometry or not. What do you think?

Oh, and the green stuff is going to be that goop, and it will probably have a self illum map so it glows.

Matt

Not bad. It has some interesting stuff on it but i think it need more detail. It looks cool from a distance... but it will seem very simple from a closeup, try to put it in the pisition that it will be seen in the game to make sure of this. I found that some little tubes here and there add a lot of personality to a weapon like that. Make a hole with some interestring mechanics in it... stuff like that. You will be able to add a lot of detail from the texture, but you will need some more geometry I think. I don't know what is the polycount on this and I need to see a wire to so that I can figure out if that can be done... but it looks like you have some very smooth round surfaces there... I'm sure that there are a lot of places to optimize it.
Good luck with this
